Learning LaNina

Nnenna Onuora (born August 31st, 1997), known professionally as LaNinaRaww, is an American born Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and business woman. Born in Washington Dc, LaNina has spent most of her childhood years in Maryland. She is an alumni of Bowie State University with a B.S in Child of Adolescent studies. It all began after LaNina lost her mom in 2012. She started writing rhymes that conveyed her different emotions/feelings. Influenced by Iconic talents such as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Wizkid, Tiwa savage; LaNina found different ways to incorporate her love for her culture in her developing sound. In 2015, LaNina dropped multiple bars to instrumentals such as “Hot Nigga” by Bobby Shmurda and “March madness” by Future. 

Shortly after, “Feeling$ The Mixtape''was released in 2016. Out of 9 songs, LaNina fell in love with the only Afro caribbean track titled “WineIt''and decided it was the sound she wanted to develop. In addition, the up and coming pop star re-released “Wine It” as her first single, proclaiming her spot in the Afro Carribean genre. After a trip to Nigeria, LaNina found more and more information on how to tap into her culture and master the sound of authentic “afropop”. She recorded 3 singles in Lagos Nigeria with talented producer DonAdah. Then came back to the states to finish school and record her Ep titled “The Bad Gal” Out now on all platforms!
